Active club membership is mandatory. We verify your profile before granting access—ensuring zero anonymous accounts and zero outsiders. This complete exclusivity is what makes every other feature safe and trustworthy.

Going active enables you to browse other active members and making your profile visible to them. Incognito keeps your profile hidden from other members in your home club only. Message matches within 24 hrs before they expire.

Browse other members seeking platonic connections. Search the bookings directory for upcoming activities looking for people to join or add your own. Share and request unused guest passes to maximise access to clubs across the network.

Is DLD8 an official David Lloyd rollout? +

No. DLD8 is an entirely independent, member-led community platform. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by David Lloyd Leisure Ltd. We’re simply building the missing digital bridge to help members who share the same spaces connect organically.

How do you verify that users are actual club members? +

When the platform launches at your club, onboarding will require submitting a quick confirmation of your membership (such as a screenshot of your member app screen) which will need to be refreshed periodically. While no platform can guarantee absolute perfection, this layer filters out random internet profiles and ensures you're only interacting with real people you could realistically pass in the lounge. Approved profiles receive a "Verified Member" status badge.

How do you handle safety and moderation? +

Safety and accountability are the core of DLD8. The platform features an immediate, native report-and-block system. Because our community is strictly anchored to real-world clubs rather than anonymous internet profiles, any behavior that violates our community standards, crosses professional boundaries, or makes another member feel uncomfortable will result in an immediate, permanent ban.

Is this strictly a gym dating app? +

Not at all. DLD8 is a respectful, community-first space designed around the unique social fabric of the club. We offer two entirely separate tracks: Mate Mode for finding tennis partners, gym motivation, or co-working connections in the lounge, and Date Mode for singles looking to meet someone new. You choose exactly how you want to navigate the community.
